Démarche artistique
Artiste émergente, mon style figuratif est le reflet de ma personnalité; joyeux, optimiste et coloré.
Je suis inspirée par les moments de bonheur et parfois par la laideur de l’être humain.
À l’Académie des Beaux-Arts, j’ai exploré plusieurs médiums et le mien est sans contredit la peinture à l’huile pour sa richesse, sa profondeur et sa polyvalence. L’étude des grands maîtres a profondément nourri ma pratique.
Je suis principalement inspirée par les moments de bonheur, les personnages en mouvement et les portraits animaliers. À l’occasion, j’aime aussi explorer des facettes plus sombres de la nature humaine et susciter une réflexion sur nos comportements. Je photographie mes sujets, souvent à leur insu, pour la spontanéité et l’authenticité de la pause; ensuite je les peins.
Je vise à capter l’attention par la richesse des couleurs, puis à nourrir la curiosité grâce à la complexité de certains détails. J’aime bien que le spectateur s’interroge sur l’action que font mes sujets ou leur intention.
Parfois la simplicité suffit:
- Un paysage qui invite à rêver dans lequel on aurait envie d’entrer
- Un objet qui ravive un bon souvenir ou éveil une émotion positive
Biographie
Née à Laval (Québec), Manon est animée par une énergie débordante et communicatrice. Sa tête foisonne d’inspiration et d’idées créatrices.
Dès son jeune âge, ses professeurs l’encouragent à poursuivre dans les arts. Pourtant, au Cégep en technique de graphisme, elle se heurte à un cadre trop rigide. Sa créativité surabondante s’éteint dans cet encadrement trop strict. Elle choisit une autre voie après 18 mois d’études.
Elle travaille en communication, principalement en gestion de la qualité. Un jour, l’étincelle artistique renaît avec force. Tout converge alors vers une évidence : elle doit enfin suivre la voie qui l’appelle depuis toujours.
Elle comprend avec l’expérience, que son talent brut doit s’appuyer sur une solide formation technique si elle veut atteindre un haut standard de qualité. En 2011, elle intègre l’Académie des Beaux-Arts de Laval, où elle est guidée par Chantal Pépin et le maître portraitiste Denis Jacques. Leur influence jouera un rôle déterminant dans son développement artistique.
À force de pratique et de persévérance, elle trouve peu à peu sa niche et son équilibre entre la technique et la créativité.

Artistic Statement
As an emerging artist, my figurative style reflects my personality: joyful, optimistic, and colorful.
During my time at the Academy of Fine Arts, I explored various mediums, but oil painting is undoubtedly my preferred choice due to its richness, depth, and versatility. Studying the Old Masters has deeply enriched my practice.
I am primarily inspired by moments of happiness, figures in motion, and animal portraits. Occasionally, I also enjoy exploring the darker facets of human nature and prompting reflection on our behavior. I photograph my subjects, often without their knowledge, to capture the spontaneity and authenticity of the moment, and then I paint them.
I aim to capture attention through rich color and then spark curiosity with intricate details. I like to encourage the viewer to wonder about my subjects’ actions or intentions.
Sometimes, simplicity is enough:
- A dreamlike landscape that beckons you to step inside
- An object that rekindles a fond memory or evokes a positive emotion
Biography
Born in Laval, Quebec, Manon is driven by boundless, infectious energy; her mind teems with inspiration and creative ideas.
From a young age, her teachers encouraged her to pursue the arts. However, while studying graphic design at the college level (Cégep), she found the framework too rigid; her overflowing creativity was stifled by such strict constraints, leading her to choose a different path after eighteen months of study.
She went on to work in communications, primarily in quality management. Then, one day, her artistic spark reignited with renewed intensity. Everything pointed to a clear conclusion: she had to finally follow the path that had always called to her.
Through experience, she realized that her raw talent needed to be grounded in solid technical training if she wanted to achieve high standards of quality. In 2011, she enrolled at the Académie des Beaux-Arts de Laval, where she was mentored by Chantal Pépin and master portraitist Denis Jacques. Their influence played a pivotal role in her artistic development.
With practice and perseverance, she gradually found her niche and achieved a balance between technique and creativity.
